KATHMANDU, Feb 7: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli have discussed the issue of presidential election.
Sources from Oli's secretariat said that in the discussion held on Tuesday morning at the Prime Minister's residence, Baluwatar, the issues of presidential election, government administration, contemporary politics and the departure of the Rastriya Swatantra Party from the government were discussed.
A month later, the presidential election will be held. During the formation of the government, there was an agreement between the CPN-UML and the CPN (Maoist Center) that the post of Prime Minister would be taken by the Maoist Centre and the post of President would be taken by UML. But recently, Prime Minister Dahal has been insisting that the president should be made through a national consensus. The CPN-UML has become suspicious of Dahal's statement.
