PM calls for package deal

BIRATNAGAR, Oct 3: Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said that discussions are on between the political parties and the government aimed at reaching a compromise for removing the present political crisis.



Talking to journalists at the Biratnagar Airport on Wednesday Prime Minister Bhattarai reiterated that general election would be held after forging consensus among the parties. [break]



Stating that there was no alternative to holding the election by fulfilling the required process for the same, he claimed that by concluding the peace process the incumbent government has demonstrated that it could do what the past governments had failed to do.



"I will not quit in the present circumstances without an alternative at hand; there is no option to going for elections and the political parties should reach a compromise for this," Prime Minister Bhattarai said, calling upon the political parties to reach a package deal to end the current political deadlock.



Prime Minister Bhattarai arrived here this morning in connection with participating in the convocation function of the Purbanchal University at Godgaon, Morang district today. The prime minister is the Chancellor of Purbanchal University.
