PM Bhattarai calls for media support for peace, statute

KATHMANDU, Sept 11: Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has urged the media persons to support the government for completing peace process and constitution writing.



Talking to a representative of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) at the Prime Minister´s official residence in Baluwatar on Sunday morning, Prime Minister Dr Bhattarai said this government has the last chance to conclude the peace process and write constitution and urged the media persons to help the government in peace process and constitution writing. PM pledged to take stern action against those who attack press and media persons and assured the State will mobilize mechanism to give the sense of professional security to the journalists. The state will leave no stone unturned to nab the attackers occurred in the political protection.



Prime Minister Dr Bhattarai said the democracy gets power through freedom of expression. PM also assured to provide budget to construct the building of the FNJ.



On the occasion, FNJ Chairman Shiva Gaule demanded to stop physical attacks on media persons, and appropriate remuneration and professional security for journalists.
