A day after the PLA warned CPN-UML and Madhesi People’s Rights Forum (MPRF) leaders against issuing anti-PLA remarks, UML leader Oli also claimed that the Maoists have sent real PLA combatants to the its youth wing – the Young Communist League (YCL), which Oli said has given rise to instability in the country.
“The Maoist party has shown its dishonesty by not keeping inside cantonments those raining bullets in Dang and Achham, among other districts,” Oli told a press conference, adding that his party won’t remain quiet. “The two armies can’t be one.”
He also claimed that there is peace and order in the country just because his party, UML, is in the government. “Had we not been in the government, law and order situation would have further deteriorated,” he said, adding that UML should be given the reins of the government.
“It is only the UML that can steer the country correctly,” said Oli. “Those who have come to the power on the strength of bombs cannot guide the country.”
Besides Oli, UML chief Jhala Nath Khanal and former General Secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal have arrived in this far-western town to address the gathering of UML cadres.
Oli also termed the recent unification between CPN (Maoist) and CPN-Unity Center-Masal to form Unified CPN(Maoist) as “unification of leftist extremists”.
