Bus knocks down a pilgrim to death in Chitwan

BHARATPUR, April 25: A pilgrim was killed after being hit by a bus at Gadyauli of Rapti Municipality-2 in east Chitwan. The deceased has been identified as Nima Kumari Rijal, 60, of Rapti-2.

BHARATPUR, April 25: A pilgrim was killed after being hit by a bus at Gadyauli of Rapti Municipality-2 in east Chitwan. The deceased has been identified as Nima Kumari Rijal, 60, of Rapti-2.


According to the police, Rijal just returned from Chatara Dham of Sunsari after observing a religious festival underway there and was knocked down by the bus in the course of getting off the vehicle she traveled.

Severely injured, Rijal breathed her last amidst the treatment at Old Medical College, according to District Police Office, Chitwan's Spokesperson Shreeram Bhandari. 


Police have arrested the bus driver, Krishna Sapkota, 41, of Hetauda submetropolis-18 in Makwanpur for further investigation into the accident.
