Photojournalist Poornima Shrestha scales Mt Dhaulagiri with 19 others

KATHMANDU, Oct 1: Photojournalist Poornima Shrestha has successfully scaled Mt Dhaulagiri (8,167 meters) with 19 other team members today.

The team members of ‘SST-Dhaulagiri I Expd. 2021 Autumn’ ascended the mountain this morning at approximately 5:30 AM, according to the Seven Summit Treks, the company which managed the expedition.

With the management of Seven Summit Treks, Shrestha and her team had left for Mt Dhaulagiri on September 18 from Marpha of Mustang district.

This is the first successful ascent of Mt Dhaulagiri by a Nepali woman.

Dhaulagiri is one of the 8,000m peaks, standing as the seventh highest mountain in the world.
