Photographs of Mount Kailash on exhibition

KATHMANDU, Aug 27: With scintillating captures of Mount Kailash and heritages nearby, Russian traveler Sergey Balalayev has exhibited the beauty of this Himalayan site through his photographs, which are on exhibition at Russian Centre of Science and Culture, Kamalpokhari.



The photo exhibition that commenced on Tuesday was inaugurated by Umakanth Jha, the Minister for Energy, Irrigation, Science, Technology and Environment, Mountaineer Aangrita Sherpa and an associate from Russian embassy. [break]



There are altogether 108 photos on exhibition that fundamentally reflects the environmental and cultural aspect of Mount Kailash. All these photographs were taken within a span of nine years (2006-2013) and demonstrate Balalayev’s passion in photography and his love for Nepal.



Speaking about the objective of this photo exhibition, Stanislav Simakov, the director of Russian Centre of Science and Culture mentioned, “Through this exhibition, we want to convince people to visit Mount Kailash, so that the tourism in Nepal gets promoted.”



The exhibition is set to continue till September 3, and is open from 10 am to 5 pm during this period.
