Photo exhibition ‘Ways of the Mountains’ on display

A photo exhibition ‘Ways of the mountains’ by Kathmandu-based photographer Sudin KC opened on 30 November at Himalayan Java, Mandala Street, Thamel. The exhibit portrays the mountain culture and stories of the people living in the Himalayas and their rich cultures and traditions that are nearly untouched by modern influences.

A photo exhibition ‘Ways of the mountains’ by Kathmandu-based photographer Sudin KC opened on 30 November at Himalayan Java, Mandala Street, Thamel. The exhibit portrays the mountain culture and stories of the people living in the Himalayas and their rich cultures and traditions that are nearly untouched by modern influences.

“It is my hope that these photos will provide viewers with some insights into the mountain culture of Nepal, inspiring them to not just trek into the mountains, but also to stop and pause to appreciate the rich cultural history the Himalayas of Nepal has to offer,” read a press statement released by Sudin.


This exhibition is part of a larger oral and visual history project entitled “Capturing Vanishing Cultures of Nepal.” Upon completion of this project, the photographer plans to curate a body of work that celebrates all the major ethnic groups and the rare indigenous tribes of Nepal as per the press statement.


The exhibition will be on display till December 30.
