As the chief sponsor, Pentagon will arrange for players´ food and accommodation, transportation, referee fees and kits for the tournament. [break]According to NVA general secretary Jeetendra Bahadur Chand Pentagon will spend about Rs 300,000 for the tournament.
NVA President Dan Bahadur Tamang and SP Singh, chairman and chief executive of Pentagon signed the deal on behalf of their respective institutions amidst a function in the capital.
The tournament will be named Pentagon National Women´s Beach Volleyball. According to NVA, this is the first time the tournament conducted by NVA got sponsor.
According to Chand, the tournament will feature a total of 14 teams, including two teams from five development regions each and two each from the Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force.
The tournament is also the first event conducted by the new executive committee of NVA following the exit of its former president Ganga Bahadur Thapa Magar.
Meanwhile, Chand also informed that NVA had constructed international level beach volleyball court at TU premises, Kirtipur. The court cost Rs 700,000. As per the agreement with TU, NVA will use the court for 10 years.
Speaking on the occasion, Singh of Pentagon expressed happiness over the college´s involvement in volleyball.
The top three teams shall be awarded with Rs 10,000 Rs 7,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively. The expected cost of the tournament is Rs 500,000.
