He pointed out the need of unity among all political parties to counter the UCPN (Maoist), which he said is involved in “politics of violence”.
Nepal also said that the parliament would probe the recent audiotape controversy and bring out the truth.
Nepal held the Maoists responsible for making people feel negative about the political system by stalling the process of political transition and creating a fertile ground for royalist activities.
He argued that no political actor would accept a Maoist-led government until the party abandons arms and combatants and transforms into a civilian party.
Nepal said he is hopeful that the country would get a new prime minister in the eighth round of voting in parliament. He argued that the Maoists and the Nepali Congress (NC) are realizing that the roadmap proposed by the CPN-UML is correct.
“The Maoists and the NC have realized the need for consensus-based politics as floated by the UML after the seventh round of voting failed to elect a new prime minister. So the new round of voting will bring positive result,” he said.
