DHARAN, May 15: Doctors at the BP Koirala Institution of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) on Wednesday halted all medical services, except emergency, citing security reasons after death of a patient due to alleged negligence of doctors.

Due to the strike, patients, who came for seeking medical services, have been left stranded.[break]

The decision to stop all services by the doctors came following the incidence in which relatives of Manamaya Tamang, 30, of Dharan-11 padlocked the room of CS Agrawal, chief at Surgery Department, following the death of Tamang on Tuesday night, who had undergone surgery for kidney stone on May 5.

Tamang was admitted to the ICU ward since then as she had shown signs of complications following the surgery.

The doctors halted the services as the hospital management committee formed a probe committee to probe the incident.
