Patan High Court upholds district court’s order, refuses to release four people arrested in connection with cryptocurrency case

KATHMANDU, May 10: The Patan High Court upheld the Kathmandu District Court's order to imprison four individuals including Rupesh Shrestha and Ashish Agarwal allegedly involved in Hundi and cryptocurrency transactions.

KATHMANDU, May 10: The Patan High Court upheld the Kathmandu District Court's order to imprison four individuals including Rupesh Shrestha and Ashish Agarwal allegedly involved in Hundi and cryptocurrency transactions.


The high court’s information officer Arjun Acharya said that the bench of Patan High Court judges Rishiram Dawadi and Narayan Prasad Regmi upheld the order of the district court.

The Kathmandu District Court had ordered Rupesh Shrestha, Ashish Agrawal, Min Bahadur GC and Kumar Pariyar to be kept in custody on February 7.


They are currently kept in the Central Jail, Sundhara as per the court's directives. Additionally, there are charges against 19 individuals for fraudulent claims amounting to Rs 286.4 billion.
