KATHMANDU, May 5: The much-awaited hearing on cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane’s case has been deferred once again by the Patan High Court.
Chief Justice Nripdhoj Niraula and Durga Prasad Dhungel chaired the session on Sunday, leading to the cancellation of Lamichhane's case from the cause list.
Despite Lamichhane’s appeal challenging the Kathmandu District Court’s decision, the hearing scheduled for Sunday faced an unprecedented postponement.

This is not the first time Lamichhane’s case has been deferred, with previous instances of rescheduled hearings.
Lamichhane lodged his appeal with the Patan High Court following his conviction in a rape case by the Kathmandu District Court.
The district court’s ruling sentenced Lamichhane to eight years in prison, casting a shadow over his aspirations to represent the national team, particularly ahead of the upcoming World Cup in America and the West Indies.
