JUMLA, April 19: Two passenger buses were vandalized parked near Chandannath P. Ltd ticket booking counter in Jumla buspark on Monday night.

According to Bhakhat Bahadur Thapa, chairperson of Chandannath P. Ltd. the buses, Na 3 Kha 5090 and Na r Kha 7800, were vandalized at 10 pm yesterday by some hooligans at the behest of the Karnali Transport Entrepreneurs Association (KTEA).

The buses had been parked at the bus park area for the last nine days after the District Administration Office, Jumla ordered the Chandannath P. Ltd not to operate its vehicles until the dispute between the two companies gets settled.

Chairperson Thapa blamed the KTEA for this vandalism and demanded a strong action against the hooligans, maintaining that they have been operating the transport services in line with the government's transport rules and regulations.

The KTEA, however, denied to have its hand in the vandalism and added that they are only objecting to the legal procedure.

Chief District Officer Rudra Prasad Pandey said he has already directed the DPO to carry out an investigation into the case and bring the guilty to book.
