Parties yet to register at district level

NEPALGUNJ, June 26: Even as the Constituent Assembly (CA) election is approaching fast, a majority of political parties are yet to register with the district election offices. Nepali Congress, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Pariwar Dal, Sadbhavna (Aanandidevi) and TMDP have only registered at the district election office in Banke.



Under the new election laws, the parties must also register with the district election offices. UCPN (Maoist), UML, CPN (Maoist) MPRF Nepal, MPRF-D, MPRF-R, Rastriya Janamorcha, Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal, Nepal Workers and Peasants Party, among others, have not yet registered at the district election offices. “Parties have not yet registered for the upcoming polls at the district level," said Lok Bahadur Rana, chief of Election Office, Banke.[break]
