With only a couple of weeks to go for the election, the parties have reached villages along with the election program. The major political parties have launched the election programs by establishing their liaison offices.
The CPN-UML) has launched its election campaign from Tuesday while the Nepali Congress (NC) and UCPN (Maoist) from Wednesday.
Likewise, Rastriya Janamorcha, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP)-Nepal, Federal Socialist Party, among others parties, have also engaged in election program. All the parties have focused their election program at rural areas in the first phase. The parties are in preparation to organize mass gatherings in the district level. All the mechanisms of the parties are deployed for the election program.
The Nepali Congress has given responsibility of Election Mobilization Committee Chief to Constituency President Hom Bahadur Hamal. Likewise, the party also mobilized its sister organizations and well-wisher organizations.
Similarly, the CPN-UML has formed an election monitoring committee under the chair of District Chairman, Shree Prasad Sharma. The party has also mobilized its all class-based organizations including district and town committees.
Sharma said that they are going to launch the election programs by dividing one municipality and 19 VDCs into four blocks.
Similarly, the UCPN (Maoist) has formed an election steering committee under the coordination of the party's central member Lil Bahadur Thapa.
The UCPN (Maoist) has started the election campaign from the Municipality area on Wednesday. The UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal is scheduled to address the election assembly in Galkot, said Thapa.
Similarly, UCPN (Maoist) senior leader Baburam Bhattarai and other leaders are also scheduled to participate in the election campaign, he added.
NC Vice-president Ram Chandra Poudel, NC leaders Gopalman Shrestha and Gagan Thapa, among others, are scheduled to arrive here to address the election campaign assemblies to be organized in different places in Baglung Constituency No 1.
The CPN-UML has already prepared to bring the central level leaders to address its election programs in the Constituency.
All political parties have taken the by-election in priority as it is an opportunity to claim latest public mandate on their side.
As many as 13 candidates of different 10 political parties are in fray in the by-election. NC has fielded Champa Devi Khadka as its candidate. Khadka is the wife of former lawmaker late Hari Bahadur Khadka. The UML has fielded Man Kumari KC, another woman candidate. The UCPN (Maoist) has presented Krishna Bahadur KC as its candidate in the by-election.
Likewise, Netra Budhathoki of the Rastriya Janamorcha, Navin Sarbujamagar, common candidate of the RPP Nepal and the RPP, Resham Thapa Magar of the Federal Socialist Party, Ruk Bahadur Pun of the Jana Mukti Party, Kshetra Pratap Thapa of the Rastrabadi Ekta Party, Kul Bahadur Kisan of CPN (ML), and Baburam Sharma of Nepal Pariwar Dal are fielded in the by-election.
