The continued closure is because of ongoing standoff between Institutional School Teachers´ Union, Private and Boarding Schools´ Organisation Nepal, National Private and Boarding Schools´ Organisation Nepal, guardian union and the local administration, as several talks held among them were inconclusive.
The row between the teachers´ union and the two organisations surfaced following the beating of a teacher, who is affiliated to the union. While the union announced indefinite closure of schools to protest the incident, the schools´ organizations also shut schools in retaliation, saying that the school has the right to sack the teacher.
The dispute has taken its toll on 133 private schools and around 35,000 students in Parsa.
On the other hand, parents, Perturbed by the long closure of schools, have urged the concerned authorities to open the school at the earliest.
