KATHMANDU, June 30: The budget session of the parliament began on Tuesday. Speaker Subas Nembang, who is also Constituent Assembly chairman, announced the commencement of the budget session by reading out a letter sent by President Ram Baran Yadav at a House meeting held in New Baneshwar Tuesday.
During the budget session, the president will unveil the government's policy and programs and later the finance minister will announce the annual budget for the Fiscal Year 2015/2016.
End of Budget Session: Will the ‘mini parliaments’ be active?
The next Legislature-Parliament meeting will take place at 11 am tomorrow. As per Article 51 (1) of the Interim Constitution of Nepal, 2007 the president upon the recommendation of the Prime Minister summons the parliament session.
The budget session which is also known as summer session will witness the tabling of the policy and programs of the government and the budget statement for the Fiscal Year 2015/2016.
Article 51 (1) of the Interim Constitution of Nepal, 2007 mentions a provision whereby the President, upon the recommendation of the Prime Minister, summons the Parliament session.
The next Legislature-Parliament meeting will take place at 11 am tomorrow.
