KATHMANDU, Jan 23: Parliamentarians speaking in the zero hour of today's parliamentary meeting have drawn the attention of the government about various issues related to their respective constituencies, districts and national issues, mostly concerns over the delay on development works.

Shiva Chandra Chaudhary voiced his concern that the construction of Terminal Tower in Janakpur Airport had not progressed an inch although the construction of Tribhuvan International Airport's terminal tower that started at the same time as the one in Janakpur Airport has already been completed for some years.

Similarly, Shree Maya Thakali demanded stern action against the culprit of Nepalgunj's Anisha Khati's case. She bemoaned that the cases of violence against women were on the rise in the country where women were assuming pivotal positions in many sectors including presidency, judiciary and parliament.

Likewise, Hari Prasad Nepal spoke of the need for the political parties to issue directives to their parliamentarians to endorse the bill related to the election at the earliest so that the dates of the long overdue elections could be declared.

Hari Bahadur Rajbanshi drew the attention of the House towards the yet-to-be built bridges over Bighi, Kankai and Kamala rivers under the Postal Highway and the washing away of the arable land in lack of construction of the embankments in those rivers. RSS
