The resolution motion for developing the Gautam Buddha´s birthplace as an International Peace City and to accomplish the remaining tasks of the Master Plan for Lumbini Development within a period of three years was endorsed by the parliament meeting on April 2, 2010. [break]
The motion had also instructed to form a permanent committee to monitor the implementation of the parliament´s stricture. Speaker Subas Nembang is the president and Deputy Speaker Purna Kumari Subedi is the vice-president of the 19-member special committee.
The members of the committee are Omsari Gharti Magar, Om Prakash Yadav, Gopal Kiranti, Tirtharam Dangol, Dal Bahadur Rana, Deep Kumar Upadhyay, Parvati Mahato Kumal, Prakash Chandra Lohani, Minendra Rijal, Mangalsiddhi Manandhar, Lila Nyaichyai, Sharada Ghimire, Sapana Malla Pradhan, Sarala Regmi, Sangha Prasad Tharu, Hirdayesh Tripathi and Shramaner Ananda.
