KATHMANDU, August 14: The Embassy of Pakistan held a flag-hoisting ceremony in Kathmandu on Monday to mark the 76th Anniversary of Pakistan's Independence Day.
Charge d’ Affaires of the Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu Umair Ali hoisted the national flag. The embassy’s officials and the Pakistani community attended the ceremony. On the occasion, messages of the president and prime minister of Pakistan were read out.
Speaking on the occasion, Charge d’ Affaires Ali recalled the determination and resolution of Muslims in 1940 to create a separate homeland for themselves and their future generations. He underlined the need for reaffirming the commitment “to make Pakistan the homeland that our forefathers had envisioned.”
