KATHMANDU, August 15: The Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu organized a flag hoisting ceremony at the embassy premise on Friday to mark the 75th Independence Day of Pakistan.
Charge d`Affaires of the Embassy Adnan Javed Khan hoisted the flag. Only Embassy’s Officers & Officials attended the ceremony due to COVID-19 pandemic this year. On the occasion, messages of the President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan were read out.

Addressing the flag hoisting ceremony Charge d`Affaires Mr. Adnan Javed Khan recalled the history of Pakistan movement under the leadership of Quaid-i- Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Referring to the Jammu Kashmir dispute, the Charge d`Affaires said that resolution of this long outstanding dispute in accordance to the wishes of the people and the UN resolutions would complete the agenda of the partition.
In the evening, the Embassy in collaboration with Nepal-Pakistan Friendship and Cultural Association (NPFCA) organized a reception to celebrate 75thIndependence Day of Pakistan.
Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun attended the function as the Chief Guest. Addressing the function, the Vice President recollected the deepness of Nepal-Pakistan friendly relations and praised the support of Pakistan in Nepal’s development endeavors.
