The PAC meeting held on Sunday decided to ask all concerned to stop the process to lease the land for building a tall structure in front of the government´s administrative center.
PAC Secretary Som Bahadur Thapa said the preliminary deal for the lease of 25 ropanis of land between NTL and Infinite Infrastructure was signed on May 30. As per the deal, Infinite Infrastructure was supposed to provide Rs 510 million to NTL for the 33-year lease. The second agreement had taken place on May 30.
Thapa said NTL could not furnish proof to committee members that it had received permission from concerned government body - Ministry of Physical Planning and Works - for the construction of 15-storied building in front of Singha Durbar.
“Though the land is near the offices of Nepal Police and Nepal Army as well as the government´s administrative center, neither NTL nor Infinite Infrastructure had informed or taken their consent for the lease,” Thapa added.
