PABSON and NPABSON, the umbrella organizations of the private and boarding schools in Nepal, which had approved the fee hikes in various districts including in the capital, have said that they would move ahead with the fee increment ignoring the agreement.

Although the private schools' representative had written a note of dissent at the meeting, the government and the unions on Sunday night had agreed on 10 points, including forcing the schools to roll back the fee-hike within 15 days.
Likewise, the authorities including the Ministry of Education and Department of Education have directed the schools to charge same admission fees, tuition fees, among others, charged last year.
The officials have also agreed to monitor the activities of schools on a regular basis and punish them when they are at fault.
"The unions have no grudges against the PABSON or NPABSON. We just want the government to act tough against the wrongdoers," said LB Tamang, treasurer of the All Nepal National Independent Student Union- Revolutionary.
