PABSON forms probe team over Gaindakot bus accident

KATHMANDU: Private and Boarding Schools’ Organization Nepal (PABSON) on Saturday formed a seven-member probe committee headed by by its central advisor Keshab Kumar Shrestha to investigate into the bus accident that killed at least 23 and injured over 50 school kids near Gaindakot, Nawalparasi, on Thursday evening.

PABSON also asked all private and boarding schools to remain closed on Sunday to mourn the death of school children. There are some 4,500 private and boarding schools affiliated to PABSON.



According to Bhoj Bahadur Shah, the probe committee has been asked to submit its finding within a month. The committee has also been entrusted to suggest measures to help prevent similar accidents in future.

The ill-fated bus carrying students and teachers of Hill Bird Boarding School, Bharatpur, after celebrating a picnic had met with a terrible accident in Gaindakot at around 8 pm, Thursday.


Shah told myrepublica.com that they have also set up a treatment fund at Everest Bank Limited. He asked all to make generous support for the treatment of the school students still undergoing treatment in various hospitals in Kathmandu and Chitwan.
