HUMLA, Oct 12: More than 40 domestic and foreign tourists have been stranded in Limi of Namkha Rural Municipality-6 following heavy snowfall on Monday and Tuesday.

The travelers, who had completed their trek in the Limi region and were returning to Simkot, were forced to stop at Tumling after heavy snowfall blocked the Nyalu Pass route, said Ubjan Rawat from Tumling.

According to Rawat, the route to Nyalu Lake in Limi has been blocked by over three feet of snow, preventing vehicles from moving forward. Despite brief sunshine on Saturday, travelers were unable to clear the snow themselves.

Due to poor telephone connectivity in Tumling, locals had to walk for over an hour and a half to inform the concerned authorities and request help to clear the road, Rawat added.

Another local, Pawan Rokaya, said that both domestic and foreign tourists have been facing mobility problems since the road was blocked.

Naresh Raj Jaisi, head of the Infrastructure Development Office overseeing the route, said efforts to clear the snow are ongoing and are expected to be completed by Sunday if not today.
