As per the statistics released by the Police Range on Sunday, it had filed cases against 4,859 people. Of them 286 are on the run.
Range Chief, Senior Superintendent of Police Uttam Karki said that the cases were filed from July 17 to April 11. It was less by 636 as compared to the last fiscal year.
Police have given more priority to the investigation rather than arresting the accused, said SSP Karki.
He further said that crime investigation has been more complex as new technologies as well as its use have increased in criminal activities in recent period. However, police have been achieving remarkable success. RSS
