Tristram Perry, public affairs officer at the US Embassy, said that the fair had been a medium of representing all 4000 colleges and universities of the USA for students in Nepal.He added, "US is the largest selection of universities in the world and we give the most amount of assistance to students from any country of the world."
The participant institutions were Marywood University, IGlobal University, Saint Francis University, St Ambrose University, University of Bridgeport, Wichita State University, California State University, Baker University, Grand Valley State University, Colorado State University, Murray State University, Ramapo College of New Jersey and Savannah College of Art & Design.
Manisha Bhushal,23, a student of BSc nursing, said that the fair had helped her in getting a direct contact with the college representatives.
"I had researched about the universities beforehand. After talking to their staff, I feel more assured about my decision of choosing this university for my post-graduation," added Bhushal.
Seventeen-year-old Prasanna Dixit Acharya wished the fair had been carried on for a longer duration as the current chaotic situation had deprived a lot of students from attending the expo.
"Students aspiring for their US dreams are in search for good scholarships. Such fairs help us get credible information about the required procedures," he said.
The fair organizers also conducted presentation regarding the visa procedures for the USA every 30 minutes to help the visitors better understand the overall process.
