KATHMANDU, Aug 12: Today, the last Monday of Shrawan, devotees have been thronging Shiva temples across the country including Pashupatinath in Kathmandu since morning. Rewati Raman Adhikari, spokesperson for the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT), said that around 115,000 devotees and Bol Bam revelers had visited the Pashupatinath since 4 AM, completing their worship by 12 noon.

According to the PADT, security personnel and volunteers have been deployed due to the very high number of visitors at the temple, compared to normal days. All four doors of the temple have been opened for the devotees since morning so that they can easily worship at the temple. Spokesperson Adhikari said that arrangements have been made for volunteer mobilization, worship facilitation, health camps, drinking water and other amenities to ensure the security of the devotees as well as hassle-free worship at the temple.

Adhikari said, “During the month of Shrawan, devotees bring holy water from Sundarijal and offer it to Pashupatinath. As today marks the last Monday, a large number of devotees has grown even larger due to the number of Bol Bam revelers who bring holy water from the Sundarijal and offer it at Pashupatinath as well as the devotees coming from India."

Today, many devotees worship Shiva temples such as Pashupatinath, Gokarneshwar, Santaneshwar, Doleshwar, Kirateshwar, Bhaleshwar, Sanga of  Kavrepalanchok, Devghat of Tanahun, Galeshwar of Myagdi and others temples.
