Speaking at a program organized by the Health Journalist Forum in Kathmandu on Tuesday, outgoing minister Giri also clarified that he spent his time as a minister studying that field. He also said that he came to know only after becoming a minister that there are many complex problems in the Ministry of Health and Population.

He said, “I got the opportunity to work as the health minister for 42 days. During these 42 days, I studied the health sector in a very intense manner. I think I spent more time interacting with the relevant parties and thinking about where the problems were and how they could be solved. Now it was time to work after understanding the health sector. But, it became necessary to take leave from here. Before becoming the health minister, I did not know that there were so many serious problems in this area.”
