Our claim to lead Madhesh Province govt is natural: Dr Raut

KATHMANDU, Dec 22: Janamat Party Chairman Dr Chandra Kant Raut has said that his party's claim to lead the government in Madhesh Province is only natural and remains intact.

KATHMANDU, Dec 22: Janamat Party Chairman Dr Chandra Kant Raut has said that his party's claim to lead the government in Madhesh Province is only natural and remains intact.


He made this claim in a conversation with media persons outside the Federal Parliament building after the swearing-in of the members of the House of Representatives on Thursday. Raut said that since his party is the third in Madhesh province, naturally the claim of Chief Minister will remain.

He said that the expectation of the people is that Janamat Party should be given the leadership of the government. Raut said that providing people-oriented services is the main responsibility of his party, adding that the issues of education, health, employment and farmers will be prioritized.


He said that he will conduct a campaign to raise the literacy rate in Madhesh Province to above 95 percent and start providing services accessible to all from the health institutions in the province. He said that the party is committed to ensuring that no person is deprived of health services and that he will work to create more jobs.


He said, "We have a good number numerically. We are in the decision making role. We have become the third largest party in Madhesh Province. People have given us a good number of seats. People also have expectations and service delivery is our major agenda. The issues of education, health, employment and farmers will be given priority. There is a campaign to take the literacy rate to above 95 percent. We believe in providing universal service in health institutions. We will ensure that no person is deprived of healthcare and we can provide more job opportunities.”


Chairman Raut said that the demands and issues of the people will be addressed from the streets as well as parliament.
