KATHMANDU, July 23: The Supreme Court has issued an order today to present dossier for hearing on the writ petition filed against the alleged illegal detention of director general of Inland Revenue Department Chudamani Sharma.

The order was issued by an extended full bench of Justices Dipak Raj Joshi, Dipak Kumar Karki, Kedar Prasad Chalise, Sharada Prasad Ghimire and Anil Kumar Sinha, according to co-spokesperson of the court Biswaraj Poudel. A decision was also reached to seek the dossier of the related case underway at the special court.

It may be noted that a joint bench of Justices Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana and Prakash Raut had on June 18 issued an order to keep the case at the Special Court in status quo, and send it to a full bench.

The order today comes in response to the habeas corpus writ filed by Sharma's spouse Kalpana Upreti on July 11. Sharma is presently under judicial custody while a case of corruption against him is being tried at the special court. RSS
