Oppn cadres injured in clash

KHOTANG, Feb 8: More than a dozen political cadres in Khotang district were injured in a clash with police on Friday morning. The clash occurred during an anti-government protest demonstration by various opposition parties. The protestors had hit the street chanting slogans against the government.



Among the injured victims are Rastriya Prajatandra Party (RPP) district chief Lalit Kumar Rai, CPN-UML district secretary Rajan Rai and under secretary Ram Prasad Dangal, Nepal Students Union (NSU) district secretary Raj Kumar Rai, Youth Association Nepal´s district secretary Pramod Shrestha, All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) district coordinator Milan Rai and secretary Khem Raj Deusali, member of Diktel Multiple Campus unit of Nepal Students Union Nabin Kaji Rai.[break]



Khotang police inspector Kamal Rajaure was also injured when the agitators had rained stones in retaliation. Among the injured, Lalit Kumar Rai, who is undergoing treatment at Halesi Polyclinic in Diktel, has received multiple injuries during the clash.
