KATHMANDU, April 29: Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Oli on Sunday launched an open data portal that provides all open data at the same platform.
The prime minister-inaugurated the portal – www.nationaldata.gov.np – during the meeting of the National Planning Commission held in Kathmandu on Sunday.
The portal is a common data platform of all three tiers of governments.
The user-friendly portal will be updated time to time, while geographical information system will also be embedded on those data to give visual concept for visitors, according to officials of the NPC.
Though visitors can access the portal, the CBS, which operates the portal, has yet to upload any data in the portal.
NPC officials said that the portal will give a sense of new federal structure in data management. “Planners and policymakers will find it a good fodder for development plan and programs,” they added.
