KATHMANDU, June 23: The Dumre-Besisahar road section which was blocked due to landslides triggered by incessant rain has been opened for one-way traffic.
The road was blocked from 6 AM this morning due to a landslide in Dalal, Udayapur, Besisahar Municipality-1.
Damauli-Dumre road section obstructed
Thaneshwor Chapagain, information officer of the District Police Office, Lamjung, said that even though a team of security personnel was deployed in the morning to clear the debris and open the road, the ongoing rain caused delay in the operation.
Vehicles and passengers were stranded due to the road closure. Passengers traveling to Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan from Besisahar and vice-versa, and to mountainous district Manang via Besisahar are heading towards their destinations following the resumption of traffic on the road.
