One person goes missing, four vehicles buried in landslide in Makawanpur

MAKAWANPUR, Aug 14: One person went missing while four vehicles were buried due to rain-triggered landslide along the Tribhuvan Highway in Thaha Municipality-12, Gairigaun.

A 54-year-old Kale Moktan, a local resident, went missing after landslide hit the highway, according to local police. Moktan is a worker at local stone mine. At least one excavator and three tippers were buried in the landslide, the District Police Office, Makawanpur, said.

The Tribhuvan Highway, which connects Kathmandu with Hetauada, has been disrupted following landslides. Police and local residents have launched rescue operation.
