One more individual arrested in connection with Gairigaun murder case

KATHMANDU, Sept 17: Police have arrested one more person allegedly involved in the murder of four persons, including three from the same family, that took place on Friday night in Gairigaun, Tinkune, Kathmandu.

A police source has confirmed that one more person has been arrested by the team of Valley Crime Investigation Office and District Police Range, Kathmandu. However, the police have not disclosed the name of the arrested person and the reason behind the incident.

The dead bodies of four people, including three from the same family, were found inside the Divya Sawmill located in Tinkune. Those killed were 56-year-old Kumar Bhujel, who was employed as a security guard at Sawmill, his wife, 52-year-old Ambika Bhujel; his mother, Subhadra Bhujel, 76; and 20-year-old Nabin Rai, who originally hails from Belbari in Morang district.

There were deep injuries caused by sharp weapons in different parts of their bodies.

The police had earlier arrested 28-year-old Dipendra Rai on the suspicion of being involved in this incident. According to AIG Deepak Thapa, Head of Valley Police Office Ranipokhari, Rai was arrested with blood spots on his clothes and shoes.

Rai is said to be a local resident of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-32, Tinkune. He has been taken into custody for interrogation. The arrested had reached the police station to inform them about the murder. Additional Inspector General of Police Deepak Thapa said that the police arrested him after noticing blood on his shoes and clothes.

The police have come to the conclusion that four people were killed by one person in Gairigaun of Kathmandu on Friday night. The police have come to the conclusion that the person who was arrested on Sunday morning for being involved in the murder had killed the four people.
