He stayed at the Panchapuri-based Bidyapur Multiple Campus after returning from the Indian city of Mumbai. “After testing negative for COVID-19 via the RDT method, he was sent home,” Nawaraj Kandel, who heads the Public Health Division at the Social Development Ministry of Karnali Province, said.

Kandel also added that they are working on collecting the travel history of the deceased and tracing contacts.

Meanwhile, a press statement published by the Karnali Province Social Development Ministry on Friday morning also confirmed the death due to COVID-19 infection.

With this, the number of deaths due to COVID-19 infection has reached 11 in Nepal. Karnali Province alone has reported two cases of fatality. Earlier, a man from Dailekh had also succumbed to this disease. His infection, too, was confirmed after his death.
