Raju Sunar, 24, of Oraste village-4 in Syangja district, was piling up electric equipments inside the godown owned by Crystal Light House when the explosion occurred. [break]
Sunar had been working there as a store-keeper for the last eight months. He was pronounced dead soon after being taken to Charak Hospital in Pokhara.
Police have arrested Narayan Man Shrestha, the owner of the light house, for interrogation. Police have recovered another plastic grenade from the godown. Police are trying to find out why the plastic grenades were kept in a godown meant for electric equipments.
A second live grenade was later disposed by a team of Nepal Army (NA), Nepal Police and Armed Police Force (APF) personnel. Police used sniff-dogs to make sure there were no other bombs in the go-down.
Meanwhile, 40 detonators were found buried in a field in Nunthala village of Khotang district on Wednesday, according to Republica correspondent Maheshwor Chamling Rai.
Police believe that the detonators were hidden under the ground by the cadres of Kirant Janawadi Workers Party (KJWP), an ethnic armed outfit active in eastern hilly districts.
KJWP cadres had attacked Nunthala police post and looted weapons a year ago. The field where the detonators were found is near Nunthala police post.
