BHADRAPUR, Aug 19: A road accident at Damak Municipality–7, Pashudanda along the East–West Highway has left one person dead and another injured.
At around 8:00 this morning, a goods truck (Pr1–02–002K 0912) carrying cauliflower from Damak to Padajungi hit a motorcycle (Pr1–01–012P 9312) coming from the opposite direction.

The motorcycle rider, 43-year-old Sukdev Gautam of Kamal Rural Municipality–5, sustained injuries. Deputy Superintendent of Police Khagendra Bahadur Khadka informed that Gautam is undergoing treatment at Damak Hospital.
Similarly, his wife, 42-year-old Muna Gautam, who was riding pillion, died on the spot, according to DSP Khadka.
After the accident, police took into custody the truck driver, 25-year-old Angdawa Sherpa of Laligurans Municipality–4, Tehrathum, along with the truck and motorcycle. Police said further investigation into the incident is underway.
