One held in connection with Kumari cooperative's fund embezzlement

A total of 1.49 billion of some 6,000 depositors has been embezzled from Kumari Multipurpose Cooperative Limited, according to the Cooperative Registrar's Office, Pokhara.

MYAGDI, Feb 21: Police have held Lokesh Pun of Beni Municipality-4 in Myagdi district for his alleged involvement in the embezzlement of Rs 1.49 billion of Kumari Multipurpose Cooperative Limited. Pun is the former Board of Directors of the cooperative.  


He was presented to the court on Thursday. The District Court has extended his judicial remand until February 25.

Police Inspector Sagar Paudel said that Pun will be presented to the court along with five others who were arrested earlier on the fund embezzlement of the same cooperative.
