“Due to several individual reasons, some bands had to back out, but we didn’t want to disappoint our fans. And even though the event won’t be as big-scale as we’d previously planned, we’re hoping it’s as entertaining,” shares Anuj Shrestha on behalf of the organizer, Cube Management.[break]
In association with ktmRocks, the gig started gathering quite a great response in its Facebook event page from the very first week it was created. Though the page is filled with mixed reactions now, the gig seems no less exciting for the metalheads.
Jindabaad, the Art-rock band as they like to call themselves, have been in the studio recording their album for the past couple of months which will be out by this July. With a growing fan base, they are all set for their open-air concert after quite a long time.
“The concert will be quite different from the recent gigs we’ve been doing, and we’re also planning to perform some of our new compositions from our album,” says vocalist and guitarist of the band, Rohit Shakya. They’ll be playing all original tracks, no covers, and you’ll surely get to hear “Rewind” and “Shades of you” – two of their tracks from the album that have already made it big with the fans.
Joining Jindabaad, budding metal bands like Stairs of Cirith, this year’s winners of KCM inter-college band competition, Rage Hybrids and Ad hoc will infuse the atmosphere with some heavy metal performances.

The Time, one of the top six finalists from Sprite Band Challenge 2 will add something different than metal to the gig. With strong vocals, rocking instrumental performances and powerful lyrics in Nepali, the experienced band has been wowing audiences with their original tracks like “Artha.”
The band Binaash, that recently changed its name from Kaal, will also step in with their death metal grunts and growls. Comprising metal devotees and ex-band members of 72 Hrs and Arachnids, Binaash was approached by the organizers as they have been the crowd-pleasers at many metal gigs before.
The concert starts 3 pm on the Bhrikuti Mandap grounds. Tickets, priced at Rs 125, will be available at the venue gates. Be there for a concoction of hardcore rock and feral head banging sessions.
Happy Earth Day!
