Last week, the Department of Revenue Investigation (DRI) filed a case against a political activist of a student union, Dinesh Khadka, for misappropriating more than Rs 376 million by using the digital currency.

In a similar case, the Metropolitan Crime Division last week nabbed Rajan Bhattarai, Bishal Shrestha and Dipesh Raj Shrestha for carrying out transactions with 975 individuals.
