KATHMANDU, Dec 20: President of the main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) has termed the recent move of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli a path toward authoritarianism.
Taking to Twitter following the PM Oli’s recommendation to the President Bidya Devi Bhandari to dissolve the House of Representatives (HoR) earlier on Sunday morning, President Deuba argued that this move is unconstitutional. “We categorically object to this undemocratic move by the Prime Minister.”
He also said that President Bhandari is not obliged to accept all the recommendations made by PM Oli.
Congress Party will formulate appropriate strategies to politically defend this unconstitutional move, he tweeted.
