KATHMANDU, July 23: Senior Nepali Congress leader Ramchandra Poudel has claimed that CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli had lied about the written speech of former King Gyanendra.

Chairman KP Sharma Oli claimed that he had drafted the speech delivered by the ousted King Gyanendra Shah on April 24, 2006, in a public event on July 8, 2022.

Senior leader Poudel said that the media should play a role to prevent such false information from publicizing.  Despite KP Oli dramatically said that he drafted the speech sitting under a certain tree, Poudel mentioned that Oli was not even part of any movement during that time.

Poudel alleged that the people were misled by giving false information and that they were trying to make Nepali Congress a victim of misunderstanding as well.
