He said NC deserved the government leadership of the next coalition because political parties had already reached an agreement to this effect. [break]
"In fact, we can form a consensus government if parties agree on NC leadership because it was an understanding reached among the parties in the past," he told reporters here in Itahari.
Oli said he wouldn´t claim the prime ministerial position at present but was quick to claim he can efficiently lead the government if entrusted the responsibility.
"Though I am not claiming the post at present, I am confident I can run the government better than others," he claimed.
He held UCPN (Maoist) responsible over protracted political stalemate in the country saying "they always want to head the government".
