Officials padlock BPC office

SYANGJA, Dec 9: All administrative works of Andhikhola Hydropower Centre at Galyang of Jagatradevi-8 of Syangja district under Butwal Power Company (BPC) have been obstructed after the officials has been padlocking the administration office for the past two weeks.



Power upgrading works of the hydropower centre have been closed due to the agitation. BPC has different power production centres in Jhimruk of Pyuthan, Butwal, Kathmandu and Syangja.[break]



The officials of Andhikhola Hydropower Centre padlocked the administration office as officials of all power production houses of the BPC were taken to street after the BPC decided to decrease bonus, which the BPC had been providing to its officials, from the current fiscal year.



Chairman of Employees´ Union of the BPC Andhikhola Hydropower Centre, Jaisur Rana, said the staffs launched the protest programs after the BPC cut the facilities provided to the staffs, which the BPC had been providing since 2062 BS.



The Hydropower Centre has been generating 5.1 mw power. Though power productions works have not been stopped, electricity distributing works have been partially affected due to closure of works at all branches of the Centre, informed the Hydropower Centre.
