Garment factory office near a police post looted in broad daylight

MORANG, Oct 9: A group of armed robbers looted the office of a garment factory in Biratnagar-- the capital of Province 1-- on Friday afternoon. The incidents of looting have started increasing in Morang after the Province Police Office announced the implementation of a special security plan for the festival season.

MORANG, Oct 9: A group of armed robbers looted the office of a garment factory in Biratnagar-- the capital of Province 1 -- on Friday morning. Incidents of robbery and looting have increased in Morang after the Province Police Office announced the implementation of a special security plan for the festival season.


According to the police, the robbery took place at around 11AM on Friday at the office of Kotex Trading located at a distance of 20 meters from the Ward Police Office (Ka) in Biratnagar-7.


A group of three armed people on motorcycles looted cash and mobile phones. Manod Todi, the operator of Kotex, was hit on the head by a group of robbers with the butt of a pistol. “A group of robbers suddenly came, showed their weapons, looted and fled away. They took away two of my mobile phones, one of my sister's and one of my brother's mobile phones with 12,000 rupees,” Todi said.

"As I was injured in the attack by the robbers, I went to Virat Nursing Home. I had to undergo four stitches on my head,” he added.


The Province Police Office has stated that 6,923 additional security personnel have been deployed across the province with 24 types of security strategies paying special attention to possible criminal incidents targeting the festival. However, even though a special security plan has been implemented, the cases of robbery have increased in the province.
