Last year, 11,581 Nepali students were enrolled in the US.

Despite a slight decrease, Nepal maintains the 11th spot among countries contributing foreign students to American higher education.

This academic year, the number of foreign students enrolled in American colleges and universities has increased by three per cent to 690,923.

This year´s growth, the report says, is primarily driven by a sharp increase in the number of Chinese students.

The number of Chinese students rose by 30 per cent to 128,000 this year.
