NSU central committee member Bhim Singh Gurung, who received a bullet injury in his leg during the scuffle on Sunday, and Rabi Thapa registered their complaints at the office of Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu. Those named in the complaints include Youth Force valley commander Ain Bahadur Mahar, ANNFSU members Purusottam Kadariya, Nayan Bantawa and Samik Badal, and two others.
Meanwhile, NSU has announced an hour-long (9 a.m. to 10 a.m.) chakka jam in front of valley colleges on Tuesday. NSU president Pradeep Paudel said their agitation will continue until the government arrested the attackers and prosecuted them.
Paudel, while addressing a mass meeting in front of Tri-Chandra College, issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the government to arrest the assailants.
NSU held demonstrations in college areas on Monday to protest the attack. NSU cadres blocked the roads, burnt tires and in some areas pelted stones at policemen. Due to the demonstrations, the capital witnessed an unusual traffic jam throughout the day.
The dispute between ANNFSU and NSU over a tender at the campus turned nasty after armed ANNFSU and Youth Force cadres allegedly attacked the NSU cadres yesterday for allegedly barring contractors other than their favorite from filing the tenders.
